Short answer: Ali Express fares run from about Rs 350 on the short Quetta hops to Rs 3,400 on the long Makran runs. On almost every route it serves, it is the lowest fare available.

The cheapest option, and usually the slowest
On most corridors Ali Express sits at the bottom of the fare table and fifteen to thirty minutes behind the quickest service. Over a short run that is a fair trade. On the long Makran and Taftan journeys the gap is wider, and the lack of air conditioning matters more than the time.
Where it is not the right choice
In summer on the desert corridors, the air conditioned economy fare from another operator is usually worth the few hundred rupees. Our route pages recommend against the non air conditioned option on Dalbandin and the western N-40 for that reason.
A Balochistan operator, not a national one
Ali Express works the provincial roads out of Quetta and the long Makran corridors from Karachi. It does not run the motorway network.
What that means when you compare fares
You will not find Ali Express on Punjab or northern routes, so a search that returns it is telling you something about the corridor as much as the operator. On roads where the national brands do not run, the choice is usually between Ali Express at the bottom and a Balochistan operator like Baloch Transport or Al Saif in the middle. That is a narrower field than a motorway route, and it is worth knowing before you judge the fares as high or low.

Ring ahead on the N-40 and Makran routes, where departures are few.

On the western Balochistan corridors departures are not daily on every service, and conditions change. That applies to every operator on those roads, but it matters more with Ali Express because the services are fewer and the fares low enough that people turn up on spec. A phone call is worth more than an early arrival.
